About PSI's Mission
PSI
is currently registering as an educational charity, is based in the south west of England and an
affiliate of the Association for the Scientific Study of Anomalous
Phenomena (ASSAP).
Our mission is to scientifically monitor and record alleged incidences of
paranormal phenomena.
Specifically,
PSI’s objectives are to:
■ Investigate alleged haunting cases in a scientific, ethical and
professional way
■ Advance the field of psychical
research and help bridge the gap between investigating and academia
■ To work constructively with the media to raise public awareness
of the field
As part of investigating in a professional
way PSI
pursues rigorously scientific and ethical
methodology
and
reporting
method. To underpin this PSI has a bank of
consultants ranging from professional academics to photo
experts as well as a
support team of
non-investigators. PSI prides itself on its professional
recruitment
process and
training weekend
for investigators.
PSI also publishes the electronic
Journal of
Investigative Psychical
Research which seeks
to advance the field of paranormal investigating and psychical research
in a scientific and meaningful way. The journal is published to PSI's
1000 members as well as on its website.
PSI has consulted with various TV documentaries and has worked directly
with BBC1, ITV1, Channel 4 and the Discovery Channel as well as with a
